This is weird for me to speak of Demi Lovato in my first post not dedicated to sports but she has been through turmoils lately. Demi lovato has decided to leave her hit T.V show “Sonny With a Chance” to focus more on her music ambitions and most importantly being away from the Disney scene. Demi (as seen in the picture to the right) was the star and quite frankly best part about the show. SWAC returns for Season 3 in June and lets just say that it will lose ratings. Demi checked into rehab late last year and has dealt with both personal and emotional challenges. Disney is already coming off losing Miley Cyrus and “Hannah Montana” as well as upcoming series finales of Suite Life On Deck and Wizards of Waverly Place. The one thing that all these shows had in common, other than some attractive females, were that the audience felt like they grew up with the characters and the stories. Disney has a big test ahead of them. More to come in the future regarding The Disney Channel.

5 Guys I’d Like Floyd to Fight
Over the weekend we had two fights on HBO including the main event with Andre Berto losing to Victor Ortiz by unanimous decision. One thing that I want to point out is the fact that Floyd Mayweather was in attendance. Mayweather has received a ton of backlash for his alleged “dodging” of Manny Pacquiao and other various antics. I have a lot of love and respect for Floyd despite all of the accusations against him whether boxing related or not. I am here to present my list of five guys that I would personally like to see Floyd fight. I could be bias but I feel that some of these fighters could even be used as tune-up fights but I am in no way disrespecting the talent of these guys. If Floyd can somehow get through his legal woes, here are some guys that I would like Floyd to face.
5. Amir Khan (25-1)
Amir just came off a good victory this past weekend and is set to fight Timothy Bradley this summer in what will be a big match for the both of them. I could see Mayweather handling Khan easily despite the fact that I believe both Khan and Bradley will put on a clinic sometime this July.
4. Timothy Bradley (27-0)
I wasn’t too thrilled in his fight with Devon Alexander but Timothy can definitely attack and attack strong. He would be a good competitor for Floyd. One thing I noticed about this guy is that he has a tendency to let his head get into the way literally. Just like the guy above, I believe Mayweather’s counter punching would secure a victory.
3. Miguel Cotto (36-2)
This guy and the next two boxers on the list are guys that I feel Floyd could go to war with.We start with Miguel Cotto who recently defeated Ricardo Mayorga and now has his eyes set on a rematch with Antonio Margarito later this year. If Cotto loses then technically he shouldn’t be on this list, but if he wins and or wins decisively then he would be a big money fight for Mayweather.
2. Victor Ortiz (29-2-2)
Unlike the other boxers talked about, this guy is on a comeback trail after suffering major defeat at the hands of Maidana. Floyd was in attendance and knows what he can get out of this guy. Ortiz is right handed but packs most of his power in his left and that is a tough test for Floyd.
1. Manny Pacquaio (52-3-2)
Manny is just the logical choice. One of the biggest fights of all-time. Not much more I can say about a potential Mayweather-Pacquaio fight. The funny thing about it is that Floyd, if he decides to put all of his skills together, could defeat Pacquiao. Maybe we’ll never find out with any of these matchups.
Here is just a shortlist of guys. Who would you like to see Mayweather fight?
NBA Playoffs 2011 Predictions Pt.2
I made my predictions for the first round of the Eastern Conference earlier and now it is time for the Western Conference.
1. San Antonio Spurs
vs
8. Memphis Grizzlies
My Winner- Memphis
This is my shocker pick because in my opinion, Memphis has what it takes to go against the number one team. This series will go seven games. I am high on guys like Tony Allen, Zach Randolph, and OJ Mayo if he gets his act together. Timmy D may just be too old for this series and I just have no faith in the Spurs this year as a number one seed.
4. Oklahoma City Thunder
vs
5. Denver Nuggets
My Winner- OKC
As much as I want to choose Denver for the likes of Lawson, Jr Smith, KMart, and Nene, I will be choosing OKC for those very same reasons. Denver is very sporadic and can prove to be too immature for the series if they do not get off to a quick start. Expect Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook to play MVP style basketball in route to knocking the Nuggets out in six. I am being generous.
3. Dallas Mavericks
vs
6. Portland Trailblazers
My Winner- Dallas
Portland will be tough for Dallas in every game and it will show in the box score but Dallas will surprisingly sweep this team.
2. Los Angeles Lakers
vs
7. New Orleans Hornets
My Winner- Los Angeles
This will be a tough series for the Lakers and may very well be the toughest. Expect the best closer in the game since MJ to go the full seven games to rid of the Hornets. Just a gut feeling.
What do you think about my predictions in my first ever article?
NBA Playoffs 2011 Predictions
I’ll start off my 2011 campaign with my predictions for the NBA Playoffs. By the time this article is published, there will already be two days of basketball played. With that being said, I am predicting every round separately, including the Finals. So without further ado here are my predictions starting with the Eastern Conference.
1. Chicago Bulls
vs
8. Indiana Pacers
My Winner- Chicago
Expect MVP candidate Derrick Rose to shine in this series. I honestly believe that Indiana can match up and win two games but the Bulls will take this in six.
4. Orlando Magics
vs
5. Atlanta Hawks
My Winner- Atlanta
I just can not take the Orlando Magics seriously. I can not take Dwight Howard seriously. He is the best center in the league and I want him to take control and be aggressive. It seems he has done that and received many techs this season but something is missing. Develop a jump shot Dwight. The Hawks have the individual pieces to lead through Orlando in five games.
3. Boston Celtics
vs
6. New York Knicks
My Winner- Boston
Home-town pick here. They lost a lot of luster since trading Perkins but I expect them to take care of the Knicks in five games.
2. Miami Heat
vs
7. Philadelphia 76ers
My Winner- Miami
I would love if the Doug Collin’s 76ers push Miami to seven games but all I see is a sweep. Miami will wear Philly down throughout the first couple of games.
