Interview w/ Sydney Maler

Sydney Maler is a gorgeous model worth checking out. Sydney took time out of her busy schedule to introduce herself to all of you. Let’s welcome Sydney Maler to the Blended family!

First things first for our readers, can you give five adjectives to describe yourself?

GoofBall

Sarcastic

Confident

Happy

Chill

What is it that you enjoy about modeling?

The best part about modeling is that everyday is different. Modeling jobs have gotten me into some pretty random adventures and cool experiences. A photo is a memory to me and a beautiful photo of me on a beach might have a huge story behind it. Most things don’t go as planned and I love being the type of person that sees an “ordeal” as an adventure or an interesting experience.

Have you seen any difference between the way that women and men are treated in the modeling industry?

I don’t believe that, in this day and age, there is too much of a difference between the way men and women are treated in the modeling industry, except that there are, and most likely will always be, more women models than men, but that is just because of the nature of the beast.  I think women are used to being judged by society and can take the abuse better than men :-). I also feel that women have, more often than not, been the advertising world’s target market because they are, by far, greater “consumers” than men, women even buy most of their man’s wardrobe or attire – although that trend seems to be shifting a bit. One thing I’ve found that has changed even in the short time that I have been modeling, is that when I first began, there was a difference in how women treated me compared to men. But recently, I feel like my female audience has grown tremendously and has come to appreciate and embrace the fun, healthy, confident lifestyle I try to live and portray.

You look to be in amazing shape. Are there any specific types of exercises or workouts that you do?

I recently have been trying my hand at boxing. I am not very good at it, but It’s always fun to try new types of workouts. Thankfully, I am extremely good at laughing at myself through all of my fumbles.

What is your ideal vacation?

My ideal vacation is one with friends and family goofing around and just having a good time. I can entertain myself almost anywhere so as long as I have friends and family to laugh and experience new places/people with I’m a happy camper.  I also love the water so my vacation would most likely be water based with plenty of swimming and water sports. Hanging out with or seeing an exotic animals wouldn’t be terrible either. I’m really into swimming with sharks right now, maybe petting a baby lion or holding a baby alligator. I guess I have a pretty random list of very specific things I would like the opportunity to experience involving exotic animals but they are just bucket list items.

What is the best place place you’ve visited?

I have been to a number of pretty cool and exotic places but I recently got back from Florida where I experienced a few perfect days in Miami. I was taken to this beach that had a sand bar on the shore with the most beautifully clear, blue water ever, while sunbathing with friends. It was so relaxing and terribly beautiful.

What’s the weirdest or craziest thing a guy has ever said to you?

This is a tough one. I don’t know what it is about my personality that attracts a large amount of crazy/weird comments from men. On my Instagram, I get a lot of weird comments about breathing my farts and I think that’s particularly odd.

Favorite junk food/guilty pleasure?

My absolute favorite guilty pleasure is rolled tacos drenched in hot sauce from Albertacos by my parents’ house in SD.  I also have an extreme sugar addiction, so If you want to get to my heart, its definitely through any sugary treat.

If you weren’t modeling, what would you be doing?

If I wasn’t modeling I would love to work in advertising and marketing. Which goes semi hand in hand with modeling. I went to school for Marketing and am absolutely intrigued with the psychology behind advertising from large details to the very small ones.

If you could choose one place to shop for the rest of your life, what place would it be?

I’m going to totally cheat on this question and say Nordstrom. I love to jump between styles and they have a large array of styles as well as a great men’s section I sometimes steal from. Not to mention the shoes, purses and jewelry.

What is your dream modeling project? Something you have never done before but would want to do?

I would love to be apart of a surf magazine or Sports Illustrated type team that gets to travel around to some of the most beautiful parts of the world and take beautiful photos. I kind of get to do this now, but I would love to travel more and have that part of my job be more of my constant life.

What is the most embarrassing moment of your life?

I don’t get embarrassed very easily so its always hard to think of particular times when I was truly embarrassed.

What are your top five favorite songs?

Hotel California- Eagles

Suicidal Thoughts- Biggie Smalls

What I got- Sublime

You know you like it- DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge

She is love- Parachute

What was your dream growing up?

Truthfully, I didn’t think modeling was really an option for me because I thought being a “model” meant you had to be 9 ft tall and 80 pounds, soaking wet. I wanted to pursue advertising and marketing, the behind-the-scenes of creating ads and commercials. I never even considered actually being in the ads or commercials myself, so this has been an amazing experience I have been able to experience at this early juncture of my life.

Do you believe in love?

Yes, I believe in love. I think that it’s extremely hard to find, but extremely amazing when it hits you.  I also think that you can be “in love” with more than just your significant other. Being in love with your friends and family is way underrated and overlooked.

Do you have any plans for the Fourth of July this year?

I do not have plans for the Fourth yet. Want to hangout?

Sounds like a plan! Thank you for your time Sydney. Is there anything you would like to say to your supporters and those being introduced to you for the first time? Welcome to the Blended family!

I dearly appreciate my fans/followers support, thank you so much! I absolutely love meeting my fans and getting to know them. If you’re a fan, please, come up and say “Hi” if you see me at an event or boppin’ around town, I swear, I don’t bite (too hard, lol). If this is the first time you’re hearing of me, come check me out! I have a wide variety of fans for a reason; girls wanting work-out tips or looking to find the next “it” bikini, all the way to my all-time favorite “creepers,” young and old, and everything in between!

Mayweather vs Canelo "The One"

Fight night is finally here. After months of anticipation and an exciting buildup courtesy of media press tours and Showtime’s All Access, tonight is where it all comes to a head at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Both Floyd Mayweather Jr and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez are undefeated but after tonight that will come to an end. Tomorrow morning many will either be talking about Alvarez shocking the world and the ultimate demise of Mayweather, or how a young hotshot pushed by Oscar De La Hoya failed to live up to the hype. Who will be the one?

Our last interview with Floyd Mayweather

Super Showdown: Mayweather vs Alvarez

‘The second fight of Floyd Mayweather Jr’s contract with Showtime/CBS will surprisingly be with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in the shortest layoff of his career in over a decade. This is arguably the biggest fight that could be made regarding Mayweather. Not only is Alvarez young and hungry, he is naturally much bigger than Mayweather and will have no problem imposing his will against Floyd. At 36 years of age, one could say this will be the toughest fight of Floyd’s career that is certain to make people wonder “what if?”. Mayweather and the Mexican bonafide star will head towards a collision course on Saturday, September 14th at the MGM Grand in what is a must see fight.

Floyd Mayweather Jr Interview

Floys Mayweather

In just two days, Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr puts his undefeated record on the line as he takes on Robert Guerrero in what is sure to be an explosive fight this weekend. Check out my interview with the self proclaimed “king of boxing”.

Everyone wants to fight you in this sport no matter their weight class. Guys like Pacquiao, Alvarez, Sergio Martinez, and so on. Why do you think guys from lower and higher weight classes want to fight you? Does this help prove the case that you are the best pound for pound fighter in the world?

For one, everyone wants a chunk of Mayweather money. Everyone knows that when you fight me, that is undoubtedly the biggest payday of any fighter’s career. And two, everyone wants to try to be the one guy to beat me, but we all know that isn’t happening. Forty-three have tried and 43 have failed.

You’re a boxer but you’re also an “entertainer” with a brand. Why do you think that so few boxers can establish a brand like yourself?

I am not just any fighter. I am a promoter. I am a businessman. I am an entrepreneur. I have my own style, and I am the best in the sport. All of that makes for an unbelievable brand.

You are one of the most polarizing figures in sports. People either love you or they hate you. How do you deal with the “hate” portion from boxing and non boxing fans?

I don’t pay attention to the critics and haters. If I let that get to me, I wouldn’t be doing this anymore. I have built my legacy with the support of my fans and followers. They have been there for me since the beginning and I appreciate that. As for the haters, they are still paying to watch me fight, so I have to thank them for that.

What can we expect out of you from your new unexpected mega deal with Showtime/CBS?

You can expect a whole new level of exposure for Floyd Mayweather and The Money Team. The programming they are rolling out for my May 4 fight is unbelievable and I am just really looking forward to being a part of the SHOWTIME/CBS Family.

Last year you faced some obstacles which helped contribute to yet another long layoff from the sport of boxing. How do you still stay motivated and committed to the sport of boxing year in and year out?

Boxing is what I do. It is my life and I have been doing it as long as I can remember. It is second nature to me, when I get in the gym, that is all there is…hard work and dedication no matter what is going on anywhere else. I am one hundred percent committed to preserving my legacy and being known as one of the best to ever lace up a pair of gloves.

Some would say that Robert used borderline illegal bully tactics against Berto. What do you expect from Robert come May 4th?

I expect a tough tough fight. Guerrero has wanted this fight for a long time and it was because of his determination, that he got it.  He is a champion and is going for glory in the biggest payday of his career. He deserves the shot, but that is all it is going to be…a shot.

You are now back training with your father, How does he being back impact life in the gym?

My father taught me the foundation of my boxing skills, and we are really getting back to the basics in the gym. Hard work and dedication. Family is so important to me and it is great to have my dad, uncles and extended family day in and day out in the gym.

What is your diet regimen like when you’re training? People are interested in how you maintain such great shape.

I eat a lot of lean proteins, but I mostly stay in shape just by working it in the gym. I spend about 5 hours a day in the gym or running. That is how you stay in shape.

When Floyd Mayweather’s career is all said and done, what legacy would you hope you’ve left behind? What would boxing be like without a Mayweather fight?

I want to be known as the greatest of all time. Right now, I am the sport of boxing. People want to see me fight because there is no one else like me. There are some good up and comers, especially the fighters we have under the Mayweather Promotions banner, but the sport revolves around when I fight and luckily fans have a lot more Mayweather coming up.

Your boxing skills are second to none and you are a master technician. What advice can you give to boxing hopefuls who are hoping to make a career out of prizefighting?

This sport is all about hard work. If you don’t have it in you to work harder than you have ever worked in your life, than this sport isn’t for you. You have to leave it all in the gym every single day because there are hundreds of other guys doing that and then some.

I wish you all of the best in the fight and I appreciate you taking the time to do the interview with us at Blended Entertainment. Is there anything that you’d like to say to your fans, the readers, and Robert in preparation for your May 4th battle?

Thanks. Just tune in May 4, you will be happy that you did.

Who Will Fight Canelo Alvarez?

Last night the sport of boxing hosted the Victor Ortiz/Josesito Lopez battle. The goal was simple for Ortiz; defeat Lopez to set up a PPV battle with Saul Canelo Alvarez. Ortiz was originally scheduled to fight Andre Berto but a positive test for performance enhancers derailed that fight and in came Josesito Lopez as a replacement. Well things didn’t pan out so well in a great fight as Victor Ortiz’s jaw was broken by Lopez causing Ortiz to retire on the stool after the ninth round. This decision has put the September 15th mega fight with Alvarez in serious jeopardy. Who would you like to see Canelo Alvarez fight now that there seems to be a lack of an opponent?

Bradley Shocks The World

Last night not only saw the Boston Celtics unable to maintain a lead in the second half of game 7 against the Heat, but something else happened that has already had boxing and sports fans talking. I’m at a lost for words as I sit here writing about it. Timothy Bradley defeated Manny Pacquaio last night in what was a shocking upset who many still can not even fathom how. Though Manny did not really hurt Bradley, he was the much busier fighter and landed more power shots and punches in general. Though there was a slim chance that we would have saw Mayweather lace up the gloves against Pacquaio at some point in the future, you can bet your bottom dollar that the fight of the century will never ever happen for sure. Bradley won in a split decision and I’m perplexed understanding how he even won more than three rounds on a judge’s scorecard. I predicted Bradley to win since it made sense for the future of boxing but I was expecting a closer fight in my eyes. This prediction made it seem like boxing would share something with professional wrestling and that’s the idea of putting a guy over so he too can become a prize fighter, a big star. Why have one star in the sport when you can create another. Some say that this was Bob Arum’s doing, some say Pacquaio was punished for delaying the fight. This may have put a grey cloud over the sport,  but it may create more business while Floyd Mayweather Jr remains inactive due to his current incarceration. It looks like a rematch between Bradley and Pac Man was already set in stone for November 10th before the fight even began. Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley did not begin the fight until after the Eastern Conference Finals was over for what was seen as a good PR move. Manny, who was cheering the Celtics in his locker room ultimately suffered the same fate via the judges.
