Day26 News

To many they are the group that Diddy himself founded, but through everything they had to endure whether it was losing a member or the hassles of changing labels, these guys still toughed it out. Today marks a new chapter for the band as they’ve officially released a statement regarding their immediate future.

“It is with great sadness and deep pain that we regret to inform you that effective immediately, Atlantic Records Platinum recording group, DAY26 have decided to take a break from the group and focus on their own individual projects.  On behalf of all the members; Willie, Mike, Rob, Brian and even Que, we would like to thank all of the “fams” aka fans, dj’s across the world, promoters, radio programmers, Bad Boy Entertainment, Starstruck Management, BET, VH1 and FUSE and all DAY26 supporters in general, for your unending support throughout these years.”

“We would also like to acknowledge that this journey would have not been made possible without the vision and mastermind of Sean “Diddy” Combs and of course MTV Networks for making a group of unknown men, the stars that they are today.”

“We simply thank you from the bottom of our hearts and really want you to know that the journey does not end here.  We continue to wish each other the very best and continued success in all of our individual endeavors, and all we ask of you is to please give each member a chance and the opportunity to shine in whatever they do.”

…And as the saying goes, this is not a goodbye, but a simply see you later.

God bless you all,

Much Love, DAY26.

Blake Griffin Out, Anthony Davis In

Team USA receives yet another blow due to injury. After losing Dwight Howard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Lamar Odom and Chris Bosh due to various reasons, we have lost one more player. Blake Griffin will undergo surgery for a torn knee meniscus that he suffered in practice. Team USA certainly has the depth but the size is absent. Losing Blake also will bring down the significant amount of alley oops and other momentum changing plays on both ends of the floor. Anthony Davis is Blake’s replacement for now and is likely to be on the team once the official Olympic games begin. I was looking forward to see how Blake would elevate his game against the likes of Spain, Argentina, and Brazil. Blake wasn’t able to play back in the World Championships due to injury, and now you can add the 2012 Olympics to the list.

Serena Wins Singles/Doubles

That’s right. Serena Williams has won the fourteenth major of her career by defeating Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland in the singles title. Just hours later her and Venus won the doubles title. Today symbolized the greatness of the William sisters. Serena battled it out in a tough three sets against Radwanska. Neither of the Williams sisters showed any signs of being bothered by the lack of them not competing together on the same team for over two years, Venus’s early exit in the singles competitions, or Serena’s championship match just hours earlier. Venus and Serena showed everyone why they are two of the all-time greatest female tennis players. Together they have thirteen Grand Slam doubles titles. Up next for both are the Olympics where they hope to obtain a gold medal and the U.S. Open soon thereafter.

Tiger Woods Gets Another One

Tiger Woods has yet another victory. Tiger’s victory at the AT&T National this past weekend gives him just three for the season but things are looking up for Mr. Woods. What’s more surprising than Tiger winning, and his consistent ratings increase for networks is the fact that he’ll be taking part in “The Greenbrier Classic” this week. Hopefully Tiger continues to win on the golf course and brings that competitive nature back to the sport of golf because he brings publicity, ratings, and hope to the sport in a way that no other athlete can do for their respective sport.

Baseball’s Home Run Derby

The most exciting event at the All-Star game for baseball is the Home Run Derby where you can see a collection of some of baseball’s best hitters. This year is no different as Robinson Cano and Matt Kemp were the captains for their respective leagues. The event takes place on Monday, July 9. It’ll be broadcasted on ESPN. Robinson Cano is the defending champion.

American League

Robinson Cano, New York Yankees
Mark Trumbo, Los Angeles Angels
Jose Bautista, Toronto Blue Jays
Prince Fielder, Detroit Tigers

National League

Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers
Carlos Beltran, St. Louis Cardinals
Giancarlo Stanton, Miami Marlins
Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies

Charlie Sheen Still Draws Ratings

Apparently Charlie Sheen happens to still draw millions of viewers even away from his days at Two and a Half Men. Sheen’s new sitcom “Anger Management” debuted as the highest rated premiere in FX history. The first episode that aired garnered 5.5 million viewers while the second episode drew 5.7 million viewers. Charlie Sheen’s new show is loosely based off the 2003 film of the same name which starred Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler. If he and the show continues to draw these type of ratings, then expect this show to last quite a few seasons.
