NBA 2k13 Celebrity News

What better way to follow up one post from the entertainment world of video games than with another one. The NBA2K franchise is the king of all basketball games, and if you need any proof just head to Google and type NBA Live 13 and you’ll see what I mean. This installment of the 2K franchise seems to be better than ever with dribbling moves now being brought back to the analog sticks which will allow seamless one to one crossover moves. Now there is a lot to expect from this game but today I wanted to talk a bit about the celebrities that will be in the game. Some of these celebs will include Justin Bieber, Mac Miller, Sean Kingston, Meek Mill, Wale, Bow Wow, Pauly D, Willie Taylor, and more. The game will be in stores on Tuesday, October 2nd and it is executive produced by Jay Z. Check out Willie Taylor donning a purple & gold Lakers uniform below and go download his highly-acclaimed sophomore mixtape, The Reintroduction of Willie Taylor which you can find at this location.

Baseball Euphoria

Two moments took place in the sport of baseball this weekend that will both have their placement in baseball history. My Boston Red Sox made a bold move by completely shedding over 260 million in salary cap to the Dodgers. No longer do we have to deal with Josh Beckett’s attitude, Carl Crawford’s lack of durability and performance, and then there is Adrian Gonzalez. It was a gutsy move to ship off Gonzalez who will definitely be missed in Boston, but the culture needs to be changed in order to become a winner again. The cap relief and the prospects the Red Sox got in return are going to be an integral part of the team’s direction for the immediate future. Now if only we could part ways with Bobby Valentine.

Who decides to hit a three run shot in his first at bat? Adrian Gonzalez. Dodger fans are going to love him.

Then…..

Roger Clemens made a return to baseball at age 50. Yes, that same Roger Clemens who was the subject of trials and tribulations literally all because of steroid allegations. This post though isn’t about his trials, but his return on the mound for the Texas minor league baseball squad, the Sugar Land Skeeters. Roger pitched three innings while striking out two batters. At age 50 he performed above expectations.

It’s Official: Dwight Howard Is a Laker

The drama is finally over until next season. Dwight Howard has been shipped off to the Los Angeles Lakers in a four team deal that involved the Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Philadelphia 76ers. The trade also involved Andre Iguodala who’s currently in London and will be playing for gold this Sunday as a part of Team USA. Rumors of this trade also involved Pau Gasol, but the Lakers were able to keep him. I think this blockbuster trade works in all of the teams’ favor because it keeps them all competitive for the upcoming  2012-2013 season. Though Howard is not guaranteeing that he’ll  sign an extension with Lakers, this is still shaping up to be an exciting year once again for basketball fans. Who do you think won this deal?

What Howard would like in a Lakers uniform

Lakers get: Dwight Howard(ORL), Chris Duhon(ORL), and Earl Clark(ORL)

Magics get: Arron Afflalo(DEN), Al Harrington(DEN), Moe Harkless(PHI), Nikola Vucevic(PHI) Josh McRoberts(LAL), Christian Eyenga(LAL), and Draft Picks

Sixers get: Andrew Bynum(LAL), Jason Richardson(ORL)

Nuggets get: Andre Iguodala(PHI)

Blake Griffin Out, Anthony Davis In

Team USA receives yet another blow due to injury. After losing Dwight Howard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Lamar Odom and Chris Bosh due to various reasons, we have lost one more player. Blake Griffin will undergo surgery for a torn knee meniscus that he suffered in practice. Team USA certainly has the depth but the size is absent. Losing Blake also will bring down the significant amount of alley oops and other momentum changing plays on both ends of the floor. Anthony Davis is Blake’s replacement for now and is likely to be on the team once the official Olympic games begin. I was looking forward to see how Blake would elevate his game against the likes of Spain, Argentina, and Brazil. Blake wasn’t able to play back in the World Championships due to injury, and now you can add the 2012 Olympics to the list.

Serena Wins Singles/Doubles

That’s right. Serena Williams has won the fourteenth major of her career by defeating Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland in the singles title. Just hours later her and Venus won the doubles title. Today symbolized the greatness of the William sisters. Serena battled it out in a tough three sets against Radwanska. Neither of the Williams sisters showed any signs of being bothered by the lack of them not competing together on the same team for over two years, Venus’s early exit in the singles competitions, or Serena’s championship match just hours earlier. Venus and Serena showed everyone why they are two of the all-time greatest female tennis players. Together they have thirteen Grand Slam doubles titles. Up next for both are the Olympics where they hope to obtain a gold medal and the U.S. Open soon thereafter.

Tiger Woods Gets Another One

Tiger Woods has yet another victory. Tiger’s victory at the AT&T National this past weekend gives him just three for the season but things are looking up for Mr. Woods. What’s more surprising than Tiger winning, and his consistent ratings increase for networks is the fact that he’ll be taking part in “The Greenbrier Classic” this week. Hopefully Tiger continues to win on the golf course and brings that competitive nature back to the sport of golf because he brings publicity, ratings, and hope to the sport in a way that no other athlete can do for their respective sport.
