Super Bowl XLVI

Today is the day sports and entertainment fans have all been waiting for. Whether it is to root for your favorite team, the halftime show, or tuning in for the commercials, this evening will special to many. The New England Patriots are led by Tom Brady and Bill Belichick who can only move higher to the next plateau  with  a win in this game. Everyone wants to talk about legacies, well four legacies are serving as the main ingredients for this Super Bowl. Those legacies are the aforementioned Brady/Belichick legacy and also the Tom Coughlin/ Eli Manning legacy. The Super Bowl takes place right in Indianapolis where Eli’s older brother Peyton has been the man of that city for many years. This game is a rematch of the match-up that took place at the Super Bowl just four years ago. This year’s halftime show will feature Madonna and many surprises. I expect the halftime show to be visually exceptional.

Blended Entertainment’s Take on the Week

Hello readers! It has been a week filled with intense schoolwork, laptop issues, and our typical drama in the entertainment industry. It is time to reflect on just a few things.

  • Nicki Minaj’s video for her song, “Stupid H***” is being denied air time by various music networks, including BET due to being too graphic. I just have to say that this is artistic freedom. I am not saying that I am a fan of the song but it’s a Hype Williams production and he always direct spectacular videos. Nicki  do great in the video. I’ve included a link below of the video.
  • Willow Smith can no longer whip her hair. That’s the buzz going around as a pic surfaced the web of her earlier depicting a shaved head for Willow. There is no word on if this is for a movie or just for kicks.
  • Season 2 of Khloe & Lamar premieres Sunday, February 19th at 10pm est. Many people will say that Khloe is their favorite Kardashian.
  • My thoughts and prayers are with Nick, Aaron, and the rest of the Carter family. Leslie Carter, sister to Nick Carter(Backstreet Boys) and Aaron Carter died earlier this week. The cause of death officially is unknown.
  • Also want to hope Demi Moore is doing alright and hope she gets her life and health back on track. Her whereabouts are unknown after being hospitalized early this week.

Golden Globe Awards

The Golden Globes were last night and it was full of laughs. It was hosted by Ricky Gervais for the second year in a row. Ricky didn’t go over the top with his jokes and that was a gripe that his critics focused on. We’ll see going forward if he’ll be invited back to host next year. Morgan Freeman was the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. In the meantime, here were some of the winners from last night:

People’s Choice Awards Recap

In case you did not watch, last night was the People’s Choice Awards. Even though Rihanna was not at the award show,( she was across the street at the exciting Clippers/Heat game), she won the award for “Favorite R&B Artist”. The show hosted by Kaley Cuoco(The Big Bang Theory) saw big winners such as Katy Perry, Johnny Depp, and Emma Stone. The Harry Potter franchise took home four awards, which is only second to five taken home by Katy Perry. The big surprise, for me would be the fact that Chloe Moretz(Let Me In) beat out the four principle actors of the Harry Potter movie franchise for favorite actor under 25. She has a ton of potential and carries herself in ways many young females her age do not. Congratulations to all the winners and the remainder of the nominees.

Some of the winners from last night were:

Kim Kardashian-Favorite TV Celebreality Star

BridesMaids-Favorite Movie

2 Broke Girls-Favorite New TV Comedy

Demi Lovato-Favorite Pop Artist

Taylor Swift-Favorite Country Artist

Pretty Little Liars-Favorite Cable TV Drama

Check out more official winners from last night’s show.

Wizards of Waverly Place Series Finale

Before you knew her as Justin Bieber’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez became a household name for starring in the hit Disney series, “Wizards of Waverly Place”. Since 2007 this series has been a staple in Disney’s programming. Tonight, it all comes down to an end. Who will be the family wizard is the question that will be answered.  This was one of the best shows on the Disney Channel due to the personalities of the cast members. Each of them blossomed as each season passed.. In the series finale tonight, will it be Alex(Gomez), will be Justin(Henrie), or will it be the youngest of the family, Max(Austin)? Tune in to the Disney Channel at 8pm EST. I personally believe that someone will make the ultimate sacrifice tonight. Wizards of Waverly Place will teach tonight that family comes first no matter what, and this series will be missed as we move forward.
