Junior Dos Santos UFC 146

Junior Dos Santos put the icing on the cake in what was billed as the” first heavyweight only UFC PPV in history”. Dos Santos defended his title successfully by putting an end to Frank Mir in the second round. The one thing that UFC has over boxing is that the heavyweight division division is much more exciting and much deeper. Dos Santos’ next opponent could be another clash with Cain Velasquez, but there are quite a few other prospects including Daniel Cormier. What was interesting was the fact that former heavyweight champ, yet currently retired Brock Lesnar attended the show and he appeared to have something to discuss with Dana White. Now while Brock is currently involved in angle with the WWE, he may possibly be looking for a squash match within the octagon in the future if that is even possible for him after what he has endured.

Mayweather vs Cotto

The event of this past weekend was the anticipated fight between Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr and Miguel Cotto. The big fight was preceded by Saul Canelo Alvarez and future hall of famer Shane Mosley in which the former landed hard hitting shots throughout all twelve rounds to secure a unanimous decision against the veteran. The judges in the main event fight scored in a way that made it seem like it was a blowout victory for Mayweather but the fight was much closer than what the score indicated. Overall it was a very competitive fight as Cotto pushed Mayweather to the brink only for Mayweather to show that he can still move up in weight and still be victorious with his defensive prowess. If you missed out on the fight, then you missed out on a very good boxing Saturday as Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr defeated Miguel Cotto to become the new WBA Super Welterweight champion in what was one of the toughest fights of his career. There is no word yet on if there will be a rematch.

5TH ANNUAL FASHION & FOOTBALL NFL DRAFT GALA Presented by EREDI PISANO and AUDI of America.

The 2012 NFL Draft concluded this past weekend. It is a yearly spectacle to watch if you’re a football fan. I make it a yearly tradition to do my fair share of scouting and mock drafts. One of the exciting aspects of the draft other than getting drafted by a professional sports team happens to be some of the lavish events that take place. The 5th Annual Fashion & Football NFL Draft Gala just so happened to be one of  these events you couldn’t miss. It all took place on April 24, 2012 at Audi Forum in New York City. All of the athletes and celebs involved modeled outfits by Italian clothing company, Eredi Pisano. I will be looking forward to the 6th Annual  Fashion & Football NFL Draft Gala.

The Grammy Award winning stylist, Eric Santiago along with The Glam Squad who outfitted participating players in some of the most impressive pieces from Pisano’s collection including wool suits done with suede elbow patches to tomato red oxford style shoes along with an array of vivid roped belts done in Italian leather finished off with silk pocket squares and must-have ties. In addition, Monster Cable unveiled their all-new, Diamond Tear Headphones during the runway portion of the event. Professional NFL players and college athletes paired the very stunning diamond headphones with which provides for the ideal finishing touch for a luxurious look. The world class headphones offering the sound of clarity with diamonds, will officially be announced this July.

Audi Forum provided the perfect space for this annual event in showcasing their line of exciting automobiles from the R8, A8, A7 and A6 models. Guests enjoyed home-style Italian lasagna and mozzarella salad provided by Contornos Restaurant located in midtown Manhattan offering a five-star menu that embodies an Italian Sunday family dinner. In addition, Peroni Nastro Azzurro – the world’s number one premium Italian beer – offered crisp, stylish, Italian refreshments as well as branded glassware for guests to take home. Specialty cocktails will were provided by CÎROC Ultra Premium vodka – one of the only vodkas made from fine French grapes. Custom cocktails were created to fit the event’s theme from the CÎROC Diddy, CÎROC Red Berry Glam, CÎROC Coco Loso, and CÎROC Peach Bellini. In essence, a taste of Italy met Football Game Day in a stylish, yet unconventional manner in one of the fashion capitals of the world.

The Rock and John Cena Headline WrestleMania 28

April 1st may be the day known as April Fools but to many professional wrestling hardcore and even casual fans out there it will simply be known as the day WrestleMania commences. The biggest event of the year for the WWE is equivalent to what the Super Bowl is for the NFL. The epic match between John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will  close the show and be a fight of the ages where two generations collide.  These two have been going at it verbally for the past year in anticipation of this match. So because this is Blended Entertainment it is my obligation as a supporter for entertainment to show you the presumed final card for WrestleMania 28.

Will Tiger Be Ready For The Masters?

This has been the question regarding basically every tournament Tiger Woods has played in well over two years. Tiger Woods won the 2012 Arnold Palmer Invitational last week for his first victory tournament victory since 2009. In preparation for the Super Bowl of all golfing events, The Masters, this served as a confidence booster for Tiger and I am hopeful that come April 5th, Tiger will start the beginning of a successful run. It will be good for him, and good for golf.

New York Jets Land Tim Tebow

All it took was a fourth and sixth rounder for the New York Jets to land Tim Tebow after the Denver Broncos essentially won the lottery when Peyton Manning signed earlier this week. Both the Jets and the Jaguars were in the running for Tebow once an issue in his contracted halted the trade for a few hours. The Tebow craze will now be in the big New York market. This will add an interesting dynamic to the season, and we’ll see how and if Mark Sanchez and the rest of the locker room responds to the phenomenon that surrounds Tim Tebow. I for one will be tuning in to see how Tebow is incorporated into the offense.
