So I wanted to share an interview/short film regarding Kris Jenner that was commissioned by CNN Style guest editor, Olivier Rousteing. All credit goes to my buddies at CNN Style. It is good to strip away the “celebrity” aspect of an individual and truly get down to the core of who they are and their personal philosophy. If you like fashion, art, auto, and architecture, then CNN Style will be for you. Check out some of the highlights from the conversation below, as well as a link to the video.
KRIS JENNER ON GUIDING HER FAMILY THROUGH HARD TIMES:
I have a very diverse family for sure. I feel like our family is sort of a little, mini, United Nations. It’s just so great and brings so much criticism sometimes from people who just don’t understand. Things get crazy, or you know, chaotic. Or you know you’re just trying to get it right and everyone makes mistakes. For sure, I’ve probably made a handful of my share.
KRIS JENNER ON THE BALANCING ACT OF BEING A MOTHER AND A MANAGER:
Well I think it’s definitely a balance being a mum and then being a manager. When you do a reality show like we do, it’s kind of fair game. And I think that from the very beginning we just decided to let it all hang out, in order to have a great presence on the show.
KRIS JENNER ON THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY OVER BUSINESS:
I think the focus has been, and always is, about the love and the kids and the grand-kids and just all about that. I will drop anything to do something for the kids. That’s personal, way over anything business. They know that that’s just the rule.
KRIS JENNER ON HER RELATIONSHIP TO HER MOTHER AND THE LESSONS SHE HAS TAKEN FROM THEIR RELATIONSHIP:
My mum and I were really close when I was growing up and when I was 13 years old I started working in my grandmother’s candle store, and my mother had a store down the street in La Jolla, so we all worked together, so that’s kind of the foundation and the background of I think what makes it so special that me and my kids work together. Through the years I got a very good education that I never would have gotten from a proper schooling. Learning how to be accountable for what’s going on in your life. I think that I was able to pay that forward, if you will, to my kids.
KRIS JENNER ON GOD:
You just have to take what comes one day at a time. I’m a firm believer that god has a handle on everything and everything happens for a reason.
