Although the trailer for the upcoming movie about the Asgardian Prince has been out for a couple of days, that doesn’t diminish how awesome this trailer is. This installment in the MCU and Thor Universe is going to be an exciting one for sure. The tone of this film will be completely different and really show off Chris Hemsworth’s comedic chops. Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins return as Loki, Heimdall, and Odin respectively. Newcomers Jeff Goldblum and Cate Blanchett join the film as the former will portray The Grandmaster, while the latter portrays the super evil villainess Hela. Not to mention that a very special friend of Thors’ will play a major part in this film. Thor: Ragnarok will be in theaters this November.
“The Civil War begins”
With a bunch of characters giving us the feel of another “Avengers” type of film, Captain America: Civil War pits Captain America and Iron Man on two separate sides of the Superhero Registration Act. I recommend that you guys not only read the Civil War comic series, but also check out the video game, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Although this game came out back in 2009, it allows you to eventually play out this major “politically” based storyline. The memories I have of that game are fantastic! The epic film releases May 6, 2016. Check out the official trailer.
Two blockbuster movies that are both expected in theaters this year have released more revealing trailers earlier today. Not sure what the idea is, but the new Terminator trailer seems to be full of spoilers. The Ant-Man trailer shows Paul Rudd in action and includes some of his interactions with ants. Both movies are due out in July and I’m more excited about Ant-Man. I’m not too excited to the point in which I’ll be rushing to see it opening weekend, but still excited nonetheless. Long term, I want to see how Paul Rudd fits into the Avengers cast if they decide to go that way. I am more interested in Ant-Man being a part of the team and not as a solo character. Paul Rudd would be gold in the copious amount of banter that takes place between Earth’s mightiest heroes. Look out for Thomas The Tank Engine in the Ant-Man trailer. Which blockbuster are you more excited for?
As for Terminator, T1 and T2 are classics and the expectations are very high.
Comic book fans feel rejoiced. Earlier today Ryan Reynolds tweeted out our very first look at Deadpool channeling Burt Reynolds. Deadpool’s outfit is straight from the comics. Ryan Reynolds is back at the helm as Wade Wilson, a mercenary who is going to bring laughter to moviegoers with his sense humor and breaking of the fourth wall. Deadpool is the perfect character to be adapted to the big screen. His interactions with the audience, and other superheroes should be priceless. I’m glad Ryan Reynolds is back again since portraying him in the Wolverine Origins debacle. He is absolutely the right guy for the part. So good thing they brought him back. Deadpool will be released in February 2016.
Ever since the announcement of the cast for the reboot of The Fantastic Four, I have been looking forward to that moment when we would be exposed to a teaser of sorts. That moment is now. See Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell as Mr Fantastic, The Human Torch, The Invisible Woman, and The Thing respectively. Expect to see the film in theaters this summer.
The official trailer for one of next summer’s blockbuster, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 featuring Andrew Garfield‘s second go as the social outcast yet fun loving and daring marvel superhero. The trailer shows off some wonderful CGI effects and the fact that Spider-Man will have his hands full with love(Emma Stone) and war(Elecktro, Rhino, and The Green Goblin). I was skeptical at first about the casting of Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti as the marquee villians but after seeing this trailer I feel a bit better about the situation. What do you guys think about both the casting and the trailer?
I have always been a huge fan of the Marvel Universe, the X-Men franchise whether it was through the comic books or the cartoons. This sequel to X-Men: First Class blends together the popular cast of the original X-Men trilogy sans James Marsden, (Who portrayed my favorite character Cyclops) who was vastly underused to his abilities in the films with the cast that is portraying the younger version of the original cast. So Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Halle Berry, and Jennifer Lawrence will all share the screen together. Days of Future Past is a very popular story line and I hope the movie does it justice. Fans, mark your calendars for May 23, 2014.
